We are embarking on a new membership drive across the country with a 30% projected increased membership by 2012.  Our immediate goal will be to appeal to “inactive members” across the mainland, USA to reunite with their local chapters.  At the end of the first phase of this project, EfikUSA will have a National Membership Directory which will represent members and at-large members from every regional chapter.  We will also have a membership listing for our ever growing Youth Wing.

The second phase of this project for the committee is the outreach efforts which have already started.  The outreach program is our way of reaching out to our members by phone within a calendar year to get a sense of the general well being of that member. Other areas this committee will focus on is the outreach to older Efiks, who are non-EfikUSA members living in our midst, as a means of gathering pertinent historical and cultural information and artifacts relevant to the successful acquisition of essential contents as it pertains to the Efik Culture and Language.

As the new website evolves, this committee will in the future liaise with the website committee, and collaborate on possible ways of providing contents towards the development of a web-based Efik language tutorial for our youth living in the USA.  This web-based initiative would also be accessed by anyone interested in attaining proficiency of the Efik language.
