Stephanie Trimnell’s Bio

Greetings all!
My name is Stephanie Segilola Abasi Trimnell and I am honored and extremely excited to be the Youth Wing President of the Efik National Association. I have always been eager to find ways to bring people together for a common goal. This position will allow me to motivate our Efik Youth to stay connected while giving me the opportunity to emphasize how important it is to stay committed to our heritage. Our last convention was a success and I am humbled to be titled Ms. Efik USA.

During my junior and senior years of high school, I was the President of the African Student Association responsible for organizing Laurel High School’s first Annual African Cultural Fashion Show. I was also the co-captain of the volleyball team during my junior year and became captain in my senior year. Serving others has always been a passion of mine. I am currently a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Literature. During college, I participated in a number of clubs and volunteer activities.

I am blessed to be working with such a strong executive board as well as the rest of my esteemed members of the Youth Wing. I have no doubt that this upcoming convention will bring all old and new members together and give us all the opportunity to unite as family and friends. It is important that we stay together. We should be encouraging and motivating each other for we are the next generation and one day we will lead the Efik National Association. Let us all work together to stimulate our youth and enhance our future while remembering our heritage, our culture and our ethnic values. I look forward to a fresh start where we can all continue to embrace the beauty and confidence that lies in our Efik community. I can’t wait to see everyone again at our next convention. Please make it your priority to attend, trust me you don’t want to miss it! Feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions, ideas or concerns.

P.S. If you have/know a child, teenager or even a young adult, please direct him/her to the Efik National Youth Wing page which I have set up on Facebook. Here is the link: http://www.facebook.com/groups/481336271893898. Please add yourself to the page so you may receive updates. Thank you!

Samuel Archibong’s Bio

Hello my fellow Efik Youth members!
My name is Samuel Archibong and I am the Vice President of the Efik Youth Wing. First of all I want to say that being a part of the 2014-2016 executive board is truly admiring. I am currently attending Richardson High School however, next semester I will be transferring to Richland College as a junior in high school. I have previous experience from participating in the” African Club” executive board at my high school. When I transfer to Richland College I plan on studying in the technological field, and getting my masters degree and so forth. Currently I am a part of the Dallas Chapter Efik Youth with the most youth members out of all the chapters, which we have no problem connecting with each other well down here in Texas. I try my best to stay in touch with the other Youth chapters across the country. However, I may not be able to know each and every youth member on a personal level if we do not attend the Efik conventions. With that being said my ultimate goal is to gather all of the youth to reunite in this upcoming convention and embrace our Efik pride and learn about our culture.

We look forward to seeing all of the young beautiful women and young handsome men at our next convention. We will be holding our annual Mr. and Ms. Efik USA as well as many other activities that will keep you on your feet. I promise that my team and I will make you want to come to conventions more than once a year if it was possible.

I highly encourage every Efik youth member out there to come to the conventions because we are the next generation after our parents. This means that we have to step up and learn as much as possible. Ladies and gentlemen we have provided with social media to get to know one another on a more personal level and to keep one another updated on what we do. Thank you everyone for reading my bio and I look forward to seeing you at the next convention!

Krystal Egbuchulam’s Bio

Hello all, my name is Krystal Egbuchulam and I am the former and current treasurer of the Efik Youth Wing. I am a first year student at Middlebury College and I am looking to study sociology and dance. I look forward to this upcoming term on the executive board with great enthusiasm for the endless opportunities to take the Efik Youth Wing to another level this year. As many of my peers and I have acknowledged, we, the Efik Youth have a duty to honor both our parents and ourselves by preserving the Efik traditions. I hope that with my diligence and collaborative team work with my fellow executive board members, we will be able to establish a strong financial estate, off of which we can achieve our goals. With the combination of fundraising, and money management, I hope that the Efik Youth Wing will one day stand on its own, as an independent and fully functioning body under the organization. I anxiously anticipate the next two years and hope to see our goes realized within the coming years.
