Paul Orok Bassey-Duke is a Managing Partner of a New York City based full service A/E design firm.  They specialize in designing new and remodeled residential buildings, particularly single-family homes and small to mid-size condominium buildings.  Other building types will include mid-size commercial and community facility uses such as “Places of Worship” (churches).  Also, as an Engineering firm, they prepare structural design plan and reports.

He graduated from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York in 1992 with a professional degree in Architecture.  Before opening his office in 2006, he was a Senior Associate with Robert L.  Henry Architects and later Henry & Dooley Architects for over fifteen years from 1986.

Some of the notable projects he worked on were; A new Medical facility in Bronx, NY, Recreation Park renovation, Rehab of IRT & IND Subway Stations in Brooklyn, New Secaucus Transfer Station in New-Jersey and several Condo buildings.  He also argued cases at public hearings before the Board of Standards and Appeals, City Planning Commission and Landmark Preservation Commission.

His interest over the years in community service through various Pratt Institute projects prepared him as an activist for outreach programs that focuses on personal empowerment at the grass root level.  He became a member of NY Tri-State Efik Association in 1991.  Within a few years of being very actively involved, he was elected the Chapter President in the Tri-State Area.

In spring of 1998, he relocated to Atlanta and helped launched the Atlanta Chapter in 2001.  Also, earlier that year, he was elected the Chapter President of Atlanta.

During his three years in Atlanta, he worked with two collaborative Construction Management Firms; The Johnson Company and The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company.  As the Project Manager in charge of Quality Control Assurance, he supervised two project sites, The New Science Center at Spellman College ($24 million) and the New CDC building, Phase-II ($40 million).

He served as a trustee member for POSSE (Path Of Success Students of Excellence) for Cornerstone Christian Center in Milford, CT.  This outreach program for grades 9-12 offered these great kids mentorship, SAT Prep Access and Take a kid to work day, to mention a few.  He is married to Afiong and they are blessed with three wonderful girls.
